The skin, or exterior of the walkway, has louvred linear panels to create a transparent weatherproof enclosure while allowing natural light and ventilation into the interior. The reticulum, or arch, draws from the wattleseed pod, and originally proposed in gulam, it has evolved into an engineered self-supporting steel canopy that evokes the rhythmic sense of nature.


The soffit underneath the walkway delivers a sculptural ribbon bisecting the landscape. It references natural landscape textures, such as rippling sand or arid cracked earth, and will be illuminated after sunset to create a sculptural ribbon bisecting the parking lot. Design liaised with the pre-casting industry to develop the relief patterns and ensure the designs were viable with the available technology.
